Why We Shouldn't Go Crazy in Free Agency

I know a lot of people are excited about the new CBA ... and cap room. Trust me, I am absolutely elated. However, I hope we don't go crazy in free agency (assuming we get the cap room to go crazy). A lot of people have been talking about going after big name free agents. Why?

We did very well last year with a core group of solid guys. Why wreck team chemistry by revamping the roster? Sure, we need a few guys here and there, but I doubt we need more than 1-3 new starters.

Just my two cents.

I agree. I just want a proven #2 receiver.

I agree compeletley. I'd go for a low-key, but soild OLB to replace Arrington, with Clemons seeing increased playingtime. Maybe a pass-rushing defensive end and a possession reciver. Thats about all I'm worried about. I want to resign Clark, Royal and D. Evans for sure. Chemistry is huge, and this is a huge boost to our chances next year!

I dont think we have enough money to go crazy, but we do have enough to resign our guys and maybe get 1 or 2 FAs. I doubt were gonna go crazy....Gibbs wouldn't do that

I doubt it. But even if we restructure deals and cut a few guys and get under the cap, by say $5-10 million, I don't think we should go nuts. I want to see another #2 or #3 wideout, a new kicker and punter (assuming Tupa and Hall's injuries haven't fully healed), and a decent defensive end.

I hope we get the most expensive punter and kicker out there and I'm not kidding.

I agree with that. Kickers and punters don't cost much and do a lot for a team. Bryan Barker and Jose Cortez anyone? That's what Spurrier was working with.

I agree. This isn't the same as when Danny simply thought he could buy a ring. A couple of pickups and i think we'll be fine.

I completely agree. As mentioned earlier, a new punter and kicker could possibly help too.

Gas up Redskins One, go to Boston, pick up David Givens and Adam Vinatieri, swing down to NO, swoop up Darren Howard, come back to DC and put it in the hanger..

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman
