I heard he was cut because fans liked him, and people outside of New England knew his name, which goes against Belichick's "No player is bigger than the team" motto. They'll be a better team without a distraction like Willie McGinest on the roster.

34 years old, huh? I hope he takes his geratol every morning. jk. Old guys do bring stability and leadership to a team (the Over the Hill Gang approach) but the salary cap makes their veteran salaries a concern.

I like the idea that he plays linebacker but it also a great pass rusher, but he's too old to waste a lot on. He need GW to bring in more young guys to mold because, hopefully, he's here for the long haul even after Gibbs re-retires.
