Jason Campbell: 2006 Season Starting QB?

My view is you're a rookie for one year. After that year is over, there are no more reasons to hold you on the bench. You've had a year to learn, and hence this year I'd treat Campbell vs Brunell as if it were any other QB battle. The best one plays.

In my mind, it already is an open competition, and I think Gibbs will treat it that way too.

I think Brunell will end up starting this season, but I gotta give Campbell a chance to beat him out. Based on Gibbs' glowing reviews of Campbell, I think we have two good QBs entering this season, and that's a real sweet problem to have.

I agree here.

Brunell will likely start the season, BUT if Campbell shines in the preseason and appears capable of playing and playing well, Campbell will likely get a shot at some point.

If it's Saunders' decision, and he bases it on how much money the QB makes, we've got the wrong guy.

I hope that it is an open competition. I don't want Gibbs saying so and so will be his starter. Then when that changes, if that changes, everyone starts to say "Can we trust Gibbs?". I'd rather Brunell and Campbell and maybe a 3rd QB depending on who go into camp battling for the starting spot.
