Updating previous reports, Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports Arizona Cardinals RB Edgerrin James has signed a four-year contract worth $30 million. The contract will pay him $14.5 million in the first year through salary, signing bonus, and roster bonus.

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Arizona Cardinals RB Edgerrin James' four-year contract worth $30 million has the following breakdown: James receives an immediate signing bonus of $7 million and an additional roster bonus of $4.5 million later this week. James' base salaries are $3.25 million for 2006, $5.25 million (2007), $5 million (2008) and $5 million (2009), according to sources. The deal will pay James $20 million over the first two years. By comparison, the $62 million contract signed last week by RB Shaun Alexander with the Seattle Seahawks pays $18.5 million in the first two years.

they got the space, that's actually a good decision (as long as he stays healthy). at 5$ per they can keep him the length of the contract, ditch him if he hits the wall, and only keep him until 32 (when he'll be nearly worthless as far as contracts go).
