Steelers sign Ryan Clark

[Schneed10]

Well, knock Ryan Clark waaaay down on my list of players I like. Check this comment out:

"It's a wonderful day," Clark said. "I was at the airport, swinging my terrible towel. I was with a team with a great fan base now -- they're going to hate me for this -- but I'm with a team with an even better one. The beauty of it is I'm coming to a team that's already great. I'll just try to fit in and be part of this great organization." ...

The note about him is at the bottom:

I still don't see this as all that exciting. I watch every 'Skins game from start to finish. When Ryan Clark is in the game I don't sit at the edge of my seat thinking "Oh, hell yeah, here we go!" He was serviceable and played well. Can't knock that against him. But between he and Prioleau I'll flip a coin and take either one as a backup to ST and AA; even Bowen if he were still on the team. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong Philly game but if the INT everyone is talking about was the one that McNabb through into his chest at the very end of the game then it didn't seem very "must keep this guy" memorable to me. I'll take a look at the highlight games and see if I'm mistaken.

what do you expect him to say? "This team sucks, the redskin's are the only team in the nfl worth caring about, and i'm sorry you gave me a multi-million dollar contract."? I mean really, everyone talks about how the steeler fans travel the best etc anyways, so its not like he's lying through his teeth.

You quoted me but your response seems to be aimed towards PWNED.

I expect him to be gracious. There is absolutely no reason why he needs to say that the Steelers' fan base is better than ours. He can just say he's excited to play in a town with a great fan base, he's excited to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, and leave it at that.

The comment about our fan base was entirely unnecessary and unsolicited.

you realize he complimented our fanbase, right? the steelers generally are regarded as having a better fanbase by most in the media etc, so all of a sudden he's not allowed to state facts?

Its no big deal, lloyd trashed the 49ers already (they haven't won a lot of games lately), arch thrashed the rams (we finished 30th in defense), so we should be on their arse about it too right?

NO because he plays for us now. i mean im not even trying to hide the bias and its completely admitted. its because they play for us and its who i like, granted not everyone gets a free pass on stuff they say.
