I would be tempted to sign him, if I were in charge of a last-place team with no passing game. But if I were in charge of a team like the redskins and put some thought into it, there would be no reason to consider him. The redskins at this point, don't need a playmaker at wide receiver with his type of risk issues.

There are a lot of major risks involved with him. It would be easier to gamble with a last-place team than a contending team - you would have less to lose, and a lot more to gain. I don't know what the broncos, cowboys of this league are thinking. I don't know, but it seems like they're not (thinking).

If I were a Cowboy fan, I would be very worried, but not because of the Dallas Star incident. I thought that was pretty cool!

Teams sign players from rivals all the time. The Redskins welcomed Sam Huff, Jean Fugett, Duane Thomas, Deion Sanders and Jerimiah Trotter from East rivals.

Owens is different. TO is a narcissistic egomaniac with a track record of disrupting team cohesion - one of those intangibles you can't define but can kill you if you don't have it. At some point, things won't go well. Will Terrible Owens help the team turn around, or make it worse? The risk is that he'll make it worse (and I hope he does). Owens can help you big and hurt you big at the same time.

The Cowboy fans will give him a chance on a short lease. Then again, that's Texas, where men are men, and sheep are worried.
