Nah, because Campbell's got a gun, too and runs the 40 yard dash WAY faster....but is Ramsey better than Todd Collins? I think so. He's definitely tougher than Pennington, good luck to Pat in the NFC and the JETS will need it this year (5-6 wins for Coles n' Crew).......
We should have held onto Patrick until Draft Day at least, if all we were getting was a 6th. We might have gotten at least a 4th round pick for him, he's way better than other backups like Ken Dorsey (eek), Tony Banks (remember him??), & Jeff Garcia (questionable) and could start for the Lions, Texans, Raiders, 49ers, Browns, etc, etc.... I guess that #6 mean Buges has his eyes on working out a ton on OL for the G and T back up spots, along with the other undrafted O-lineman that will be invited to camp.

Good luck Patrick, many wish you well. NY can be a tough place to play if you're not productive, the fans and media there are not quite as forgiving as the one's you're leaving. He is however, worth more than a 6th rounder.

Re: Ramsey to the Jets

Well I'm sure Mr. Coles is happy. He left and trashed Ramsey when comparing him to Chad. Now he's with a team in the middle of a rebuilding process the Redskins are pushing for another playoff run. Chad got hurt and now Pat's coming to town to throw him the ball again. I always liked Patrick Ramsey because I think he's a class act. I hope he has a nice career from now on, hopefully he won't end up in Batlimore though. When he sees the Skins, I'll hope cheer for the worst though.

He's preparing a 7-page reply involving tales of bribery, steroids, drive-by shootings, prostitutes, and cowbell...because you always need cowbell

Well, I wish PR the best, but I hope he doesn't become the next Brett Favre. I think the guy has a lot of heart, but if Gibbs says he is not the QB for the Skins, then he is not the QB for the Skins. He may go on to have a nice career, just not with us.

Good Luck Pat................

Re: Ramsey to the Jets

I though PR showed a lot of class in the way he handled himself during the last season. Most other folks would have gotten pissed and vented to the media. PR did not. And now his rep is intact and he's in a position to compete.

No way we could trade him last year--we couldn't be sure about Brunnell and Campbell was not ready.

As for the 6th rounder, we were gonna cut him anyway, and we took what we could get. What really hurt was all the dang QBs that flooded the market. So it goes. SOmetimes you've gotta sell, no matter what the market is doing.

Good luck, Pat.

Re: Ramsey to the Jets

Good luck to Patrick, he will be successful in the NFL somewhere...just not New York.

So if he was traded before the deadline last year, what would have happened when Brunell got hurt in the Giants game? Could you really say that the Skins would have won with Campbell and made the playoffs? I don't know, but I'm glad they had him.

And yes, a 6th rounder is a total rip, but as I see it, its better than the nothing they would have gotten from cutting him to free the cap space anyway.

Actually, I think a 6th rounder may be in the end worse than nothing. With a 6th rounder you have to give them at least SOME money when they sign, and lets face it, they aren't gonna make the team.

Paul, Tom Brady on line 1, he has a point of disagreement with you.

Re: Ramsey to the Jets

im not so sure paul. sometimes there are gems to be had. its a crapshoot, however wouldnt the payoff be WAY greater if we were to find a gem. cooley was a 3rd round pick and we see how he turned out. granted 3rd is WAY better than 6th, but still.
