I'm not saying I've given up on him. The impression I get from some is that he was never expected to be more than a special teamer. Maybe I got the wrong impression. But I seem to remember that kind of consensus about McCune when I made the statement that our linebacking corps might be just fine with maybe one addition of someone like Keith Adams. I just don't think it'll be the end of the world if we go into the season with Marcus Washington, Lemar Marshall, and either Holdman, Clemons, or Adams (if he signs) battling for the third spot -- along with the progress of McCune to one day join the starting lineup. Just trying to examine the possibility that we could go elsewhere with the 53rd pick in the draft.

Then again, if there's an absolute steal at linebacker when we pick, I say go for it.
