yeah the acting was pretty blah and I think the only times people laughed for a second or so was when the cop was saying "what the f!@#. what the f!@# was that!" and the begining of the nurses scene cuz it looked like they were gonna break out into the Thriller dance.
but there was so much freaky ass crap in that movie that I was able to look past that which I normally can't do. that was because of awesome effects like the transformation of the surroundings when the darkness comes is one of the coolest things I've seen done as were a few other special effect scenes especially when taken into account that this movie's budget wasn't nearly as much as a lot of other "big" horror movies. I think I liked it a lot cuz other than saw, I can't recall a really good horror flick I've seen in the past 5 or so years.
