2004: The draft we should be grading

I tell you what, I just watched the 05 highlights again for the 5000 time and it should not even be a question about this front office and what they have done although they have missed on some. That highlight clip should say it all on how Gibbs and crew have built this team whether it was average draft or a very good FA signings they have done well. Those big clips of highlights is all ones that many have criticized.

-Trading up for Cooley
-Carlos Rogers instead of Mike Williams
-Portis is not a power Gibbs back
-Cornelius Griffin very good when healthy
-Moss is not as good as Coles
-Shawn Springs injury prone, been just as dominate as Champ not saying he is Champ, but he filled in well.
-Marcus Washington is a beast
-Sean Taylor Pro Bowl if keeps his off field issues under control after this ordeal passes
-Daniels came on strong the final weeks of the season hopefully it carries over.
-Jason Campbell???? Potential to be our franchise QB for a long time, we will see.
-Brunell had the best year of his career last year and our first playoff trip since 1999 though many still question his ability
Highlight Video is filled with people this group has brought in.

But if you're grading drafts based on the information that's available, certainly you can gauge how well each team did collecting players according to their prospective status coming out of college. If this weren't true, then there would be no player rankings; which is something every front office, coaching staff and scouting department in the NFL has.

Grading drafts is fine. You've just got to define what your basing the grade on.

True, I just think it's funny when blowhards in the media get all hyped up like their word on the draft is final and absolute, even before any of these guys put on a NFL uniform.
