well technically batman begins is a prequel, but i thought it was very good.

I think it counts though since it was like the 5th batman movie and the 3rd and 4th ones were both god awful.

I also liked Men in Black, and I saw MIB:2, and it made me quite upset.

What's the problem? You didn't think Alicia Silverstone had some Oscar-quality acting?

Man, I thought you were saying it was bad. I kept thinking "that guy has lost it" Batman Begins I think is the best of the comic book movies. It creates the most realistic set circumstances possible of all the comic book movies. I know a lot of the super fans like the more comic book/fantasy type feel to the movies but I like a more realistic feel. Showing how Batman could "fly" and do all the things he could do was cool. And the story line was fantastic. One of my favorite movies really.

I just wish they hadn't used Katie Holmes. They had an incredible cast that she just didn't belong with. However, even she couldn't take away from the fact that it was a very good movie.

I still think the worst sequel ever has got to be The Fast and the Furious, or as I like to call it, Point Break 2:the reckoning. The script was bascially just changed so that instead of surfing they were street racing and instead of the robbers knocking over banks they were stealing trucks. Other than that the movies were almost identical.

speaking of which... i can think of lots of great casts hurt by one bad female lead worse than that:

-the aunt in american gothic was terrible (though the producers also had issues with choosing the shows direction)
-drew barrymore in donnie darko (or anything else)
-rosario dawson in rent (added to sell tickets, but she was dreadful beyond words)
-the black chick in the last season of homicide: life on the streets (a cardboard box could have been more convincing)
