Someone in DC may be able to help better but I can tell you from my point of view on my trip to DC last year. I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn which was right downtown walking distance to the Mall and White house. Also right across the street was the Metro. The Metro also goes to Reagan National airport which is pretty handy.... and you can take the Metro to the game as well. Like I said others may be able to help out more but that was my experience. Near the Metro so I could travel and right downtown to walk and sitesee
