Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
It's a pretty big pile of crap that last week the Colts barely beat the Jags with zero offensive production, but yet a week later the Skins offense starts clicking, almost put up 500 yards of offense, and almost put up twice as many points up on the vaunted Jags defense and the Skins get no respect except from Woody Paige, Salisbury, and Jaws.

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
TAF, is it true that NBC owns replay rights for the games from the end of the 4 o'clock games until like 11:30 or 12? I noticed that Comcast didn't have any highlights last night and it was really pissing me off.

Yeah the new contract very heavily favors NBC and the NFL Network

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
I've noticed too when ESPN shows highlights from a NBC game, the NBC logo is VERY prominently displayed on the screen. I'm assuming that was part of their deal too.

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
It's subliminal advertising I guess. I know that when I get home from work on a week night and I want to watch some sports NBC is the first place I turn.

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
Like many of you i was a little ticked the Blitz didnt have better coverage of that great game and instead had tons of shit about a guy being stepped on the head and the seahawk bear blowout, who cares about a blowout when were talking about the revival of a team? Around the horn talked about it and we only got support form Woody Paige, but the others will see the light to when we light up New York

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
I don't know who produced Sunday night's SC but I asked another producer for SC the rationale behind the decision. Here was his answer, for what it's worth:
"It is simply an editorial call. I am not sure how the decision was made to not include the game in the Blitz because it certainly seemed like one that you would have expected to see TJ & Chris do. There is only so much time in the show. It was the last day of the baseball season. You get the picture. On this particular Sunday the game deserved more than the :50 it got. My opinion. But those who were making the call that night have to make tough calls about which games get which highlight length… Hope this helps you understand… even if it doesn't necessarily satisfy you."

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
Still lame.
There were other games they could have cut down on. A 36-30 OT thriller deserves more than :50 of highlights. I think the Skins-Texans highlights were probably just as long. Meanwhile they ramped up the highlights of such thrillers as the Bears hammering the Seahawks. Bad call anyway you look at it. That game deserved more coverage. A double thumbs down to ESPN right now from me. |

Re: Very lame Sportscenter highlights
TAF's only jobs are to wax Berman's head and make sure Clayton doesn't have any embryonic fluid on his face before he goes on camera.
