Re: What Is Wrong With The Offense?

Give the Giants credit they had 2 weeks to prepare for us and they got the job done. Its the curse of the meadowlands. They wanted it more. we really need Springs back so we can be more agressive on D. Maybe by some miracle he'll be back this week. The season isn't doomed yet but don't sleep on the Titans. They are a desperate team that hasn't won a game yet. It would be embarassing if we don't pull that one out. I truly believe if we play like we are capable we can go into indy and beat them and head into the bye week at 4-3 and have 2 weeks to prepare for Dallas. Schedule isn't easy so the skins gotta bring there A game every week.

Did y'all see the news on John Hall? ESPN. com says his job in in jeopardy.

ESPN.com - NFL - Sources: Kicker Hall on thin ice with Redskins

Better yet, Brunell has three times as many losses this season as P. Manning and Brady combined.

Re: What Is Wrong With The Offense?

Let's see..
The Patriots have allowed 74 points, the Redskins 110.
And who's been on the Colts schedule?
@Giants (OK, not easy as we know)
Texans
Jaguars (21-14)
@Jets (31-28)
Titans (14-13)

Also interesting: the Pats have scored 108, we've scored 96, CP was (mostly) out for 2+ games (including some disappearance this week), and we're learning a new system.

As far as QB rating for the year,
P Manning: 95.6
Brunell: 90.1 (10th in the league)
Brady: 82.6

I guess you're missing my point. Here's some numbers.

Come from behind victories(after being down in the 4th quarter)

Peyton Manning - 26
Tom Brady - 21
Mark Brunell - 18

Mark Brunell has been in the league for five seasons more than Manning, and seven more than Brady. And to top it off, Brunell is statistically the worst quarterback in the league at fourth quarter comebacks since 1996.

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Football analysis and NFL stats for the Moneyball era - Authors of Pro Football Prospectus 2005

Basically, if Washington is down in the fourth quarter, they'll lose 75% of the time with Brunell running the show. And his rating is a bit skewed from the Texans and Jags games. His rating for the three losses were 76.9, 59.8, and 68.2. So keep defending his horribly inconsistent performance. It must be because the hundred million dollar trio of receivers isn't getting open. Or maybe when Portis isn't having an all pro day, Brunell forgets how to stand in the pocket and complete a pass. Either way, Washington is staring 6-10 in the face if the quarterback play doesn't become more consistent.

i think Brunell is excruciatingly consistent. consistently conservative.

REMEMBER DALLAS LAST SEASON MARK. there's a time to open it up, and YES, it can be between the hashes especially in the 4th and you're behind.

Teams lose games, not players.

I disagree. Let's say a team is up, and the quarterback throws a pick that gets returned for a game winning touchdown. All of the blame for the loss will be placed on the quarterback that threw the interception.

And lots of people seemed to use the argument that LaVar Arrington sucked, and "he lost us several games by being out of position". I even heard dumbass Brian Mitchell make comment. Not that I agree with that particular remark, but most people seem to think one person can be blamed for losses.
