Champ Bailey, Darrell Green, Fred Smoot, Antoine Winfield.

Ed Reed One of his best year, was his first.

Dawkins had on of his best years as rookie also. I have seen maney safties get better as they got older, but most corner backs get a little better within the first three years and then get worse as they get slower.

You seem to be pointing out exceptions to the rule, and Reed and Dawkins are safeties not corners.

If it's so easy to play corner right from the start, I want to see alot more examples than just the obvious ones.

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage

Those who think Holdman has not been a problem better get TIVO or watch NFL Network tonight at 8. They ran at him constantly. He missed tackles got pushed back and never caused a disruption. Rocky has been consistent on Special Teams. Holdman should be cut and replaced, period. As far as Archuletta, he just does not read the gaps and fill the hole. Rodgers, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. IF he would turn his head around it would be nice. 2 rookie DT's spells no dline push. Those who also think Ade should be playing have never watched him as he has failed repeatly. Seems he got beat on a simple in route, they were in gol to go so he did not have to worry about getting beat deep. If you ask me they have not blitzed and Williams is the one who has created this disaster. My favorite drill is when they do up and downs then run after the cones. He idiot they run after footballs not cones. The only orange thing they have been running to is the little pylons int eh corners of the endzone, trying to keep the other team from touching them.

Holdman's been playing a lot better this season than he was last season. However, I do agree he's a liability, but that doesn't mean that Rocky's ready to go either. Rocky looked good in the preseason...at the end of games. It's hard to say what he'd do as a starter.

Ade will finally answer fulfull the prophecy and become our defensive savior. and you wondered why he's been here so long. we were waiting for THIS moment.

Warrick = least of our worries. wouldn't mind trying a 3-4 with Rocky and Warrick though. Carter is obviously not doing a thing.

I don't know how we can ask for McIntosh to be put in the starting lineup. We haven't seen anything from him yet.

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage

I got a chance to talk with Rocky's uncle at the Giants game. I patted him on the back saying it was good to see someone with a rookies jersey on, looking toward the future. He then told me Rocky was his nephew. I told him how anxious many of us were/are to see him play and he commented that Rocky was just biding his time and learning as much as he can from his mentors and coaches. He is very excited to get a chance to play and the sooner the better, but he is very content to continue to learn the game and be patient. Sounds like Rocky has his head in the right place and is a humble young man. His aunt and uncle were very nice and they seem very proud.
With that said....I think it is time for Rocky!!!

Anybody might think this might be a Jerry Gray problem? I know Springs is out, but he comes in and all of a sudden we're horrible at corner? I mean Rogers was better than this last year.

Rogers wasn't matched up against the other team's #1 WRs all the time last year either. I know people always want to keep digging for reasons, but the reasons are simple. We've lost two key defenders in Springs and Prioleau.

Look at how different the offense was minus just one guy in Portis.

Our offense was not all too great all our playmaker towards the end of the season.

I knew that they were safties. I was just pointing out that it is easier to teach a saftey, than a corner. I looked at numerous corners, most played their first year. You show me some good corners that spent two or three years playing shitty, and got a whole lot better. Carlos is doing OK, but will never be great.

Correct me if I am wrong, Portis did play last week didn't he? We scored 3 points, but we do have Clinton to thank for that, after all it was his dropped pass on a simple throw for a firstdown inside the Giant 10 yard line that allowed us to have to kick that fieldgoal. Perhaps he might take the work week a little more seriously instead of trying to figure out what kind of costume to wear, he might not have that type of lapse of concentration!

I'm not saying every game with Portis in the lineup is a guaranteed win, but we're certainly a MUCH better team with him vs. without. I'm sure that even you can admit as much, well probably not.

Same goes for the D. Springs' return won't guarantee the D doing a complete 180, but I'll certainly rather take my chances with him vs. without him.

As far as ragging on CP for his costumes, that's just silly. It didn't have any sort of negative effect when they won 5 in a row to close out the season last year, did it?

Trying to correlate dressing up on Thursday to losing concentration in the game is assanine and just another example of you trying to take a lame shot at Portis.

Is he doing that this year? I thought he just defended one side of the field. If so, then that would make more sense.
