What the hell Al Saunders?
How the hell do you lose to an 0-5 team AT HOME?
Where's this explosive offense of yours? The Redskins never cease to amaze. |

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
im not sure what the deal is with Saunders offense. the redskins had absolutely no rhythm today on offense.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
Portis with only 14 carries is the stat that really irks me....and its not like we were playing from behind the whole game

Quote:
1. Portis only got 14 carries 2. Our offense is incapable of going deep and stretching defenses 3. Our offense is incredibly predictable |

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
Yeah really. Didn't Saunders say he never ran the same play twice in the span of three games? Well since the season has started we've ran at least 25 screens.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
I thought that if you are playing a team that is near the bottom of the league in rushing defense, and you have 1500 yd back, you would run the ball down their throat. Hey, but what do I know, I'm just a middle school football coach! HAIL from Nashville!

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
Stop bashing Saunders, that is what we wanted. Our offense sucked last year towards the end, so we got saunders, and his play calling has shown potential, agaisnt both JAX and the Texans. I think he did not pass down the field bc Brunell is scared to, and Saunders doesn't trust him with the deep ball. Yeah we should have ran more, but they were stuffing the run, so I think passing is was a good idea to open up the run. Leave Al alone.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
I think Gibbs has alot more imput than we think, bc our offense is running typical Gibbs style, like last season. Therefore it is very predictable and conservative.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
This does bring up the question: is saunders the one calling all these dink and dump passes? Or are they Brunell's checkdowns?

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
I have no clue, but whoever is calling them 7 out of 10 passing plays needs to have his head examined. As I said earlier, they're great when called a few times a game but awful when called on just about every passing play. I was shocked each time Brunell dropped back and actually tried to throw to a wideout who was beyond the line of scrimmage.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
It is a combo of both, I am sure he is, but it is bc Brunell sucks, and neither have confidence throwing deep. Trent Green aired it out all the time in KC, so Al is not a dink passer.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
And I am sure Gibbs has alot more imput than we think, as in game plan, general play preference, etc...

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
The only question I have is, why can other teams go ahead and play their rookie or second year QB's and be successful. How ever our coaching staff drafts a QB in the first round and have him sit for two years. This is piss poor management is you ask me.

Re: What the hell Al Saunders?
Exactly, I am calling for Campbell because the season is not looking well, not bc Brunell is really bad(he is though).
