The problem is, the HOF players should vote, not some sports writers who all have some sort of personal agendas. How can you have people voting for the hall when they never played a down.....in any kind of competative football.

The problem with only letting HOFers vote is that there would be too much buddy stuff and team-mates pushing non-deserving team-mates for induction. I dont think the current system is perfect but I think its best because it provides a broad range of perspectives and the best chance for objectivity.

I dont necessarily believe that someone had to play football to be able to determine who the all time greats are.
