Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

1:1 or 1.5:1... he's a rookie and will throw into coverage (and sometimes guns short passes in a somewhat odd manner), but his touch on deep balls is crazy good, and his pocket presence/poise is very good too. hopefully the parts around him make it easier and the playcalling works towards team strengths without being too much for him to handle in his first start. TB is a good defense though and he may be asked to pass a LOT.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

I think he'll have a rougher game, just because the TB defense is no slouch. I'm not going to expect a whole lot since new QBs tend to be tight and throw the ball high a bit. I'm expecting him to hit Lloyd on some deep bombs however since he actually has the arm to get it there.

JC best be shopping for Rolex's for the O-line right now. unless they do signifigantly better than they have this year, I may have to revise my TD/INT ratio

I think the OL was probably a bit pissed considering that they'd give Brunell some time, and then he'd dump it off.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

Not like a revelation or anything, but Brunell hasn't really looked comfortable in the pocket this season. Feet not set, etc. I wondered if the O line had lost confidence in him. They haven't really done a good job consistenly in portection or run blocking. Maybe they can get stoked up and kick some ass for JC

I predict Campbell's stats as follows: 13/24, 190 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs. The offense will rack up 175 passing yards and 140 rushing yards. The team will squeak out a narrow victory of 17-14, but not because of Jason Campbell.
I like this prediction. I see the D coming together, just as they were in the middle of the eagles game, bringing pressure & covering well. The staff will take the pressure off of JC too.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

i,m ready to go thru the growing pains with him cause he is our future..

lets see what he can do.. i,m seeing TB throwing the kitchen sink at him but he does well with the team responding well with him...

this game could be a potential shootout..but this is campbells 1st start and it could be rought to but i,m hoping he will be tough....show us the way JC.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

One thing I remember from preseason is he was good at getting rid of the ball quickly.

JC might be the next Rothlesberger (good Ben). History says...........he struggles and does a lot of rook stuff. Like somebody else posted, TB gonna stack 46 in the box.

Ronde Barber returns 2 picks for TDs - a 45 yarder and a 7 yarder.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions

I think Jason Campbell is such a big difference from Mark Brunell it will be an advantage for the Redskins. The Bucs will not have any material to prepare with. If Brunell was starting, you can play tight coverage, bring up the safeties and stop the run because Brunell is not going to throw over the top. Now with Campbell, that wouldn't be a good strategy. Chances are he will see a lot of blitzes and zone coverage. That should open up the running game and the intermediate passes. I see the Skins winning a close game 27-21 with Campbell having a decent day 200 yards passing with a bomb to Moss and no interceptions. Betts and Duckett will have a good day on the ground with a touchdown apiece.

Good thinking...I really do think that "surprise" advantage will help us. NO ONE has any pro gametape to look at. Preseason can't really help, the plays were probably scripted.
