Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
where is this anywhere you speak of? decent big backs are hard to find with so much emphasis on 40 times. betts is like chester taylor or a bit worse than foster. both of our reserve backs are in the "good backup, serviceable starter." betts is more versatile in that he catches well, but he does give you many extra yards when the play isn't there. both portis and duckett can make those yards out of nothing more consistently.

Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
I'd like to resign Betts. I highly highly doubt Duckett will want to resign here after the way he's been used this season.

Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
Well now that CP will be on IR, I guess that means that we will have a competition for the #2 man. Or we will showcase our two pending free agents for the other 31 teams that will need a free agent RB this offseason.
Personally being an Iowa fan since birth, I am pulling for Betts. From a team aspect I think we should sign Duckett. I think he is more of the change of pace back that this offense needs. Honestly I am really frustrated beyond belief. Does anyone know if Duckett will be a UFA, or RFA? I hate that we traded away two picks for a guy that isn't under contract after these next 7 games. Will we ever stop this madness.

Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
I hope we keep Duckett. Although Betts could start for a number of teams. TJ would be a great change of pace back behind Portis. With Sellers at 278 lbs., and TJ at 254 lbs., short yardage and goalline situations would be a done deal. Plus, TJ has shared carries before with Warrick Dunn. Why can't or wouldn't he do the same here? If he wants to win that is. Just a thought. Keep TJ.

Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
I think that TJ is the answer. Ladell is going to want to find somewhere where he can have a bigger role. I love betts and I would not be suprised if he was not offered a few starter/ feature back role in some of the teams that are struggling with the RB position.

Re: Will We Resign Duckett or Betts??
tough call, I think it comes down to who we can sign first - might lose both. I always like to keep players we drafted, but TJ makes more sense as a compliment to CP. I'm not sold on his overall effort though, not sure if he blocks well in the pass game. at Mich. St he caught the ball a lot but other than that screen for -3 (which he did a good job of holding on to) haven't seen him much as a reciever in the nfl
