Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt

For some reason my gut says stick with Nick. I think he, like the team, will get hot soon. Vanderjagt is a virus who sucks outdoors. And Dallas replaced him with Gramatica? That indicates to me that Vanderjagt has real issues, because Gramatica hasn't kicked well in years.

We need a fix RIGHT NOW, but I would like to hang on to Nick as well. He's cheap and may come around. A good Maryland boy, and if we can live with roster/practice squad spot.........keep him. Maybe, he can be a Theisman, and return kicks??????????? maybe not

You know what... I know that novak has struggled, but I like the kid. Not to mention the money factor. Vanderjadt will still command money.

Id much rather watch novak miss than vanderjadt miss. He's a whiney little turd and he doesn't SOLVE the problem of having an inconsistant kicker.

Maybe it's because he's a hometown kid, but I really don't understand people rationalizing keeping a kicker who's hitting on 50%.

It has alot to do with his attitude. I know he's 50% and am NOT arguing against replacing him with a quality kicker... but Vjadt just lost his job due to performance. Bringing him in does not solve our problem and creates a possible chemistry issue. I can bet it would be MUCH more frustrating to lose a game on a missed kick when you have a primadonna kicker that will publicly blast your team, than some wide-eyed hometown kid who is trying his ass off for his home team.

I'm sentimental. Perhaps he he will improve. You will notice, I did not advocate not making a positive change, if possible. only hanging onto him as well

Sure. I'm always in favor of signing Dallas rejects.

Signing him would be a move just like every other move that Dan Snyder gets criticized for. Big name... ignore the negatives. This guy got tossed off two teams and it wasn't because of non-production or "a slump". It was because he has a big mouth.

Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt

Vandy brings baggage with him, the LAST thing we need is a kicker with baggage. If we were realistically in the playoff hunt i'd say sign him, but now that we are all but out of it, I'd say don't waste more money on a drama queen kicker, especially one from DALLAS

Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt

Is It Really That Hard To Find A Guy That Can Kick The Ball Past The 20 Yard Line????????? Cause Our Last 5 Kickers Couldnt Even Do That, Forget Field Goal Accuracy

Re: Cowboys Release Vanderjagt

What has he done wrong? he's missed many big kicks for the cowboys, he TALKS to the media, it should be a rule that a kicker is not allowed to even speak to the media. He pouts on the sideline, how can you like him?

Alright then, for the anti-Vandy guys no complaining when Novak continues on his 50/50 tear.
