You can't go wrong with any Deftones CD, I'm really digging the new one. They can be a tough listen at first though, it took me a while to get hooked on them. |

Did you go to the show in Nissan? It was the first time I just mellowed out in the lawn, I'm usually down in the pits... I started to regret that decision, untill they started a pit up in the lawn..... Very fun. It's was the best show I've seen them put on in at least 4 years.

Not a huge fan of Don't Tread on Me but it's still ok, but I really liked Evolver. |

Re: The Deftones...
Dude I should have looked at your location. I assumed you were in the D.C. area. My bad. Good to know you are both a Tones fan and a Skins fan!! New respect for you in my book brother. Thanks for all the effort on the site by the way.

Re: The Deftones...
Hey Matty, you will be happy to know they are not only a great band but also one of the coolest to meet and hang out with. I had the pleasure of doing a show with them back when I was still playing in my old band Punishment. I think it was right before their 2nd album release. Great guys to hang out with, really laid back. And for those of you who were into thrash metal and hardcore punk, we also did shows with Kreator, DRI, At War and a few others I cant think of at the moment. I worked security at the Peppermint Beach Club in Va. Beach back in the mid ninetys and met tons of bands, Pantera was my favorite. They played there 4-5 times, 100 mph on stage and off, total blast! Its a shame about Dimebag, as a matter of fact I think today is the 2 yr anniversary of his murder. Anyway the list is long on bands Ive met and hung out with, but the Deftones are up at the top as far as great show and good people.

Pantera back in the day... man those guys just tore it up! I remember hearing Mouth for War for the first time and it just rocked my skull. I was hooked from that moment. |

Re: The Deftones...
That reminds me, the live concert pics on the inside of that cd were taken at the Peppermint Beach club. They loved playing there. It was a small venue, max. 1100 people, But they loved playing that size, close to the fans, jumping into the mosh pit and all that fun stuff they couldnt do at the huge venues. They did a couple of tours w/ White Zombie and came to the Hampton Coliseum and it was Darrells (guitar) b-day and we hung out on stage by the amps and watched the whole show from there, it was amazing. But nothing like seeing them in a smaller place.
