I do not believe this is the situation. I believe Clements is a very talented player who will demand the highest salary in the market and by signing him, the Redskins would be paying above-market for a player.

I would prefer to see them target a solid young player who can fill the nickel role for a year, and grow into the starting position once Springs retires in a year or so.

That makes sense but I heard Redskins One will be ready to roll at 12:01 am heading straight to Buffalo.
