Valiant comeback attempt for a team just playing for pride. Defense just let us down again. If the defense can improve to mere average, and the offense continues at the pace it has been playing recently, next season could be special! Let's hope!

We were saying the exact opposite of that at the end of 2004.

Yeah, isn't it something. The defense was playing great that year and the offense sucked. Hopefully that's good news in that it won't take long to get that defense turned around. I think Williams will have a lot to prove next season, I think that big contract extension maybe went to his head.

Yes, Mr. Williams ego has come back to earth (unfortunately not his bank account) and if he isn't careful so is his reputation and job!

Re: Redskins-Giants Postgame Thoughts

Given the way the defense once again blew the game, we need to evaluate Gregg Williams' value to the team. I mean, how many coordinators who finish 31st or 32nd at what they do keep their jobs?

Not many have as many injuries and made so many mistakes in the free agency picking at fools gold as he has. After 2 fantastic seasons you want his head after one bad one, GL with that.

Fear not, Giants ownership will be blinded by the "play-off appearance" and give Coughlin an extension. Coughlin will then "con" the 'skins into allowing Williams to come be a co-defensive coordinator to work with Tim "as soon as Pittsburgh fires me they finally win the Super Bowl" Lewis, for next season.

That's not true. We beat Minnesota to end 04 and Ramsey looked good in that game. We scored 21 points which was kind of the benchmark Gibbs had set for success. Plus we were returning one of the top defenses in the league.

I think he was meaning opposite as being...
'if our offense can just become average, our defense can carry us'
Whereas now we are saying...
'if our defense can just become average, our offense can carry us'
