Re: F... total losers!

Life is too short to bog yourself down by worrying about the fate of losers like this. Cut these people out of your life altogether.

Makes it tough when it's your wife's brother. But definitely don't pay any money on his behalf. If you can't convince your wife to completely sever ties with him, at least don't enable his pattern of illegal behavior. Giving him ANY kind of help would do just that.

And NEVER buy into their claims that they plan to reform. For every 1 guy you're wrong about, you'll be right about 99 of them if you simply assume that their claims are full of shitake mushrooms.

Re: F... total losers!

I have helped this person before only to have it blow up in my face. When he was first arrested in '00 i think, he was charged with Distribution of heroin. He gave me this big sob story about how he was framed. He told me it was all a setup. Somebody came to his house to drop "something" off that somebody else was supposed to come by later and pick that "something" up. When the other person came by, he was wearing a wire.

The only reeason I helped him out is because there was a child involved. His girlfriend was in trouble too because she was there and the state was gonna take his kid. I gave him $3000 for a lawyer retainer fee. Of course here it is 7 years later and I have yet to see a dime of that money.

The thing that gets me the most is what he did this time to get arrested. Stealing from people who have already lost everything. If he is willing to do something like that, why would he care about stealing something from me? He has already stolen from his dad. His mother put up her home to get him out of jail the last time. Now that he is in N.O. i don't know if she is gonna lose her home or not.

Mooches are the worst! My best man for my wedding is a moucher. I have been friends with him since like 3rd grade. I hate it. Now he is saying he has no money to come visit for the bacholer party but I know he buys weed all the time and just got a new plasma. He just doesn't want to spend money on non-fun things. It is so irrating.

What?! Isn't the best man supposed to organize and lead the bachelor party? That's crazy man.

What's more fun than being at a bachelor party and having bouncy tities in your face? He should be labeled an acquaintance at best.

Find a new best man and friend he is the one who should be honored to be your best man and is suppose to throw the bacholer party. My best man was happy to do this for me and I have been happy to do the same when I was a best man. Just because you have known him sense third its time to move on. I had a friend who I grew up with and he never seemed to have money or a job just seemed to call when we where heading out in the boat for the day and stuff like that. He is still a friend but we have grown apart and he is far from my best friend. If I see him out its nice to see him have a drink and talk some of the past but thats what it is the past.

dude, i feel you. but in the end, you have to do what is in your heart. looking in from the outside, its easy to see that this guy is a loser. but when family is involved, sometimes its hard to say no

I have tried so hard to get my wife to see that there is no hope for him. Its very hard being that he is her blood. For years we fought about this subject every time he got in trouble. She tried to defend him as a victim of circumstance every time. It took a great deal of time to get her to understand that he was putting himself into those situations and when it all boils down to it, it IS his fault.

Like my ole man used to say:

"Hang around a barber shop long enough, you are gonna get a haircut!"

Maybe you should ask one of your other buddies to be your best man and explain to you other (friend?) why you did what you did.
