They have fought him on everything he has done except around 9/11. What I mean by fighting back is when the Republicans start slinging the mud, the dems typically try to take the 'higher road' but sometimes you've gotta sling that mud right back. Clinton was great at that. He would fight on their level.

Not to get political too much here but if you think the Dems don't sling mud you are fooling your self Matty. Both parties do it like Rembrandt.

I think that is the biggest political problem in the country. People in each party think those in the other party are horrible and do bad things when it all reality they ALL just suck. There is barely a politician in DC I'd let babysit my kid.

It has become way too competitive and 'Us versus them' to do any good for the country.

i think what matty is trying to say, to use an example, is like when the swift boat repulicans denounced john keryys wartime experience. for the most part, no one in the party said a word, they just stood by silently, and took it. here was a decorated war veteran, getting dragged thru the mud, and the democrats let it happen

Bad example as they where a group of guys who where on the same boat as John Kerry who had a different view of what went on. They got bashed for trying to give their side of a story which John Kerry brought into the political race. Why do they not have a right to tell their side of the story if they were being used in a political campain?

that ad campaign was entirely funded by the GOP. so i think this is an good example. Matty, care to give your thoughts?

I would argue that for every swift boat load of crap(which it was) there is a WMD lie load of crap.. Neither side gets to claim the high road.

Slinging mud is all the Democrats have done for the past 6 years and I would say its quite the opposite. What kind of mud slinging have the Republican party been doing?
