I had a frined in highschool who always broke up with whoever he was dating before VD. Half the time they ended up back together within a few weeks following VD. None of them ever figured out he did it just to avoid VD. He'd do it for other holidays or occasions too. Always for Prom. He never wanted to shell out the dough for Prom. It was actually quite funny by the time we got be seniors.

For those who hate Valentine's Day, here's the update: I spent about twenty bucks to buy supplies to make her some spaghetti carbonara. Twenty bucks and the whole idea of Valentine's Day got Malcolm some much-needed tang.
