Re: It's Time For The Skins' Super Bowl Starting With Free Agency

randle el is not ur typical reciever he is the most versitale player in the nfl thats why we got lloyd also this year you will see

moss 1150 yards
lloyd 750 yards
randle el 500 yards
cooley 700 yards

portis 1500 yards
betts 800 yards

we will have the number one or number 2 offense in the league it just all falls on the shoulders of JASON CAMPBELL if he clicks from opening day i would not want to be a defense playing against the redskins and on top of that we have 5 count them 5 pro bowl calibur lineman THE WEAPONS ARE ENDLESS its all up to number 17

Carful not to overrate Randle El or Lloyd, these guys aren't very good receivers.

I still like Randle El. He's a good punt returner and as an ex QB he understands offense from multiple perspectives and is very versatile. He does have a habit of dropping the ball in traffic to remind you he's a converted QB. Even though his signing was not a good deal for us, he has some use to this team.

Conversely, Moss and Cooley are GREAT players. Both excel after the catch (which is where WRs get most of their value), and Cooley has improved markedly as a blocker since he entered the league.

Campbell should get better and better as the year progresses. This should be the best offense we've seen in years, but top 2 may be a bit too much.

i'd bet against lloyd getting 700+ yards this year. right now he's the #3, and last year as a #2 he did NOTHING.

the progression is moss, cooley, ARE, RB, whatever junk TE/WR that's also on the field

Re: It's Time For The Skins' Super Bowl Starting With Free Agency

i wont for 2 reasons portis missed half of 2006 and we were number 4 in rushing if we re-sign dockery and portis and betts stay healthy for 16 games we will be number 1 in rushing offense

also i am staying optomistic about lloyd and randle el we have 4 great weapons for reciever and te

santana moss
brandon lloyd (giving him one last chance)
antwaan randle el (very versiatle)
Chris Cooley ( should have been in the pro bowl the past 2 years got snubbed)

if jason campbell can and i think he will improve drastically we could have the number 2 offesnse that is not out of the question at all and if gibbs get saunders to implement the screen passes that helped moss amass 1,478 yards and 9 tds in 05 there is no question about the offense we have weapons now are you telling me that we have no chance to have one of the top 2 offenses in the league

p.s. i am new how do you start a new blog thing

he wasn't nasty in SF. he made one play and disappeared for the rest of the half. their fans weren't sorry to see him go. I mean, lloyd only had the worst stats for a starting receiver in the history of the nfl (at least during the superbowl era).

I'll agree with you until Lloyd proves me wrong...but I'm starting to really like Randel El at WR too, I thought he played very well down the stretch for us at that position and I could easily see him stepping up as our #2.

he should already be our #2, lloyd sucked, and attitude to boot. ARE is still making too much for what he does, but compared to lloyd, it's all roses.

Re: It's Time For The Skins' Super Bowl Starting With Free Agency

welcome EQ2689 sorry that your think im negative all the time. Maybe its seems that way because there nothing as of right now about the team present and future to be postive about. Maybe here a couple we finally went back to our reg uniforms instead of that crappy w on w. I guess we should be thankful that we actually have three pick left in the draft as of today. I guess we should be thankful we have the worst salary cap situation in the NFL. Guess we should be thankful we have the worst front office in the NFL. I guess we should be thankful that were the laughing stock of the NFL and team cant wait to make deals with us. Etc etc. OK now the fun part over, we should be thankful that from the 5 plays that rocky played on defense he looks like he can play if he given the chance. Our two draft picks on the dline look promising. At least Campbell can throw the ball over the line of scrimmage, instead of behind it like Brunell always did. Betts is a great number two back and i think can be a good number 1 if portis wasnt here. Washington a great LB a warrior. Taylor is a great talent lets hope he can learn to play pass coverage. How that for being postive. Hail to the skins.

I look for Campbell to improve this year, but setting the expectation level for a QB with less than 1 full season of starts under his belt so high seems pretty unrealistic to me. At this point in his development he doesn't need to be a force. He just needs to hit a big play here and there, concentrate on learning the postion and work on keeping the mistakes to a minimum.

Lloyd has yet to prove that he can consistantly be a major factor on an NFL offense. Until I see eveidence to the contrary, in my opinion he's one of the worst aquisitions in recent memory.

I think this offense will improve over the course of the season and may well be a formidable unit down the stretch, but I also would not be suprised to see it ranked in the league's bottom third during the first 5-6 weeks of the season.
