Washington needs to resign Dock for no other reason than to show the locker room that they are willing to take care of their own. You hear Coach Gibbs talk about core redskins then you watch them throw loads of money at some big name free agent while forgetting about the core redskins, you can't underestimate what this does to a locker room. It's not like they don't want him back. If a deal doesn't get done, it's not any more our fault than his. From what I understand, we aren't lowballing him or anything. I just don't think he's going to sign here before talking to some other teams at the combine.

If he can find a very lucrative deal, he's gonna walk. The only thing that would be our fault is if we further compromised our future to prevent him from walking by coming over the top.

Conversely, if he finds that the market has little interest in him, I think he will be locked up through 2011 by this time next week.
