Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
ProFootballTalk.com -- The Best Pro Football Scoop on the Internet
If the Raiders trade Randy Moss to the Packers for Aaron Rodgers, then I would expect the Raiders to draft Calvin Johnson with the first pick. "We're heard from too many people that Rodgers was included in trade talks. Mike Felger of the Boston Herald reported on Thursday that a deal involving the two players was imminent." ...... "As we've been told, quarterback Brett Favre is pushing hard for the Packers to get Moss. "

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
its looking more and more like if C.J. is still on the board at #2 the skins will make a trade with Detroit. Detroit doesn't need a WR (nor do the Skins) and a 1st rounder this year and a 1st rounder next year plus a couple of players. C.J. will be a star in this league for years to come. The guy is naturally talented. If the Skins do find a way to get him i willing to bet he would push Moss to No. 2 right away.

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
If Gibbs believes that we will be good this year, he may be thinking that giving up next years number one pick to move up would be worth it. I do agree with ThatGuy in that you can't cover both CJ and Moss. Our offense would really be set for a long time.

Make NO mistake about it, I want to buy the VIPER.......................BAD. However, the SUV will far better serve our needs, and lead to better results

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
on the value chart the #2 pick is 2600 points, and #6 is 1600 points. by that chart, if we gave up a future first, we would be getting ripped off if we had the 14th or higher pick next year, 15th would be even, and 16th and lower would be a steal for us.

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
Well, Michael Smith on NFL Live just said the Redskins were the best fit for Johnson, so it must be so.
As much as I'd rather trade down to get more picks, and get a good DT, I'd love to see an offense with Moss, Johnson, ARE, Cooley, and Portis.

These are just reporters like the ones at PFT, etc., just an opinion. I'd like to see us get a great potential WR, but I think our NEEDS are very different. I quess we'll know more next month......after about 5 thousand different reporters give us 5 thousand different reports of who we will be drafting.

Do we really need more weapons on offense though?
I'd really hate to see us trade up. |

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
For arguements sake...
If CJ is still available at 4, the 4th pick is valued at 1800 and the 6th is 1600. We could probably come up with something that wouldn't break the bank to trade with Tampa. They really don't need another WR, but will feel forced to take the obvious best player on the board unless they have a reason not to. That could be a senario that the skins would explore if they really are not happy with the defensive players available that high and they can't trade down for more picks.

Re: RUMOR: Skins looking to trade up for C.J.
Part of me is considering CJ as well. I mean we made some moves on D. I'd love to see if GW could get this ship turned around just with Fletcher-Baker, THEN we go DT or DE next year if we suck so much ass we have to pick early again.
But again, I'm also of the opinion that as long as we DON'T take RB or QB, I'm fine.

I hope also we don't get a QB/RB in the draft, cause we don't need either?
