Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Couldn't agree more. He'll be tough in the Bear's system and could have been better used here, which everyone in the league knows. A six round pick is nothing. We've been suckered again.

We got Doughty and Golston in the 6th round last year. I think they're both going to be more than solid for the Redskins in the years to come.

Bears also picked up AA's 5 million guaranteed money he was due this year along with the 6th round pick. Bears let Jones go and now do this? They are making some weird moves..... I WAS WRONG ON THIS ONE GUYS!! AA is history and time to finally move on. |

We traded AA before his bonus was due. When a player is traded, so is his salary/bonus.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
you know I am glad to get his contract off the books after next season, but I dont understand why every one is so RA RA? It just speaks volumes in the ways of this front office. It has been very, very questionable the last 4 years. we go on and on all the time about this. We let a former 1st round pick, who we made the highest paid safety in league history, go for a 6th round pick? How bad is that. yeah yeah, preach all you want about how we dont have to pay him, but we do still have to pay him 4+ million in dead cap space. we lead the league in that every single year. GW has to be held accountable for this crap. Bailey gone, smoot gone(back now) pierce gone, clark gone, Arrington gone, mis steps with Arch, Barrow, Wright, Rumph. who is letting this guy pick these players. Everyone in the league knew Arch was not going to fit here, but GW did. Carter has yet to earn the 10mil signing bonus 30+million contract. he played well in 3, 4 games? He may turn out to be ok, but come on. its just another move and big contract that hasn't worked out. there has to be some kind of change soon if this organization is going to put up another big silver trophy at Redskin park.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Archuletta should do better in Chicago than he did here in Washington not because of the coaching but because of the system. He'll get to play zone a lot more there and - assuming that Briggs actually does come back and play in Chicago - he'll have far more competent linebacking in front of him to take care of business in that part of the field without his "intervention".
Archuletta never was a cover guy - - even coming out of college. The biggest mistake came from whomever it was in the FO or coaching staff or both who thought he could work out here in a system that liked to play man coverage more than once in a while. Those are the folks at whom your wrath should be aimed. Archuletta simply signed a piece of paper that guaranteed him more money than he ever thought he was going to be offered. And then he played about the way he should have been expected to play in this system. Someone mentioned this earlier in the thread but let me reiterate it here. Archuletta was a bad free-agent move but it is nowhere near as bad as the Scott Mitchell signing in Detroit was. That was THE worst of all time...

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Good riddance you loser!! You were the worst Redskins of all-time! I bet the loser will be riding the Bears sideline just like he did this past season.
