glad this mess is over, and that we get an extra pick to add some depth to the squad hopefully

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Only problem with Hamlin is that he's a hard hitting run stopper kinda like Taylor, and not that great in coverage. I like him though. I think the Cowboys are hoping they can draft my boy Reggie Nelson from Florida...

We will now see if it was the coaching, or the player. If he goes to da Bears and becomes an all pro, heads have to roll.

Yeah that's true. It's at the end of the Arch story. Don't know what to make of that move really.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I'd like to know exactly how the contract parameters work out. Does his bonus not apply now and just the already bonus money or what? I guess we'll need clarifcation on how this deal was executed. Bravo for getting something here. I tend to agree with Tripp that'd it'd have been nice to keep him around use him better but I think his BS attitude and probable media leaking meant it couldn't work.
On that note I agree he probably had reason to be perturbed but he also acted entirely unprofessional from what it sounds like. I think the only thing I'll remember about him is that he seemed to be a big baby. Oh and he couldn't cover a bed with a sheet. |

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
I guess just to sure up some depth behind PP while getting somebody with some knowledge of the system since the latter seems to be top priority. It's a damn shame they couldnt bring back Clark instead. But hell with all the homecomings I guess clark isnt out of the picture.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
Yea here's the story that is really tragic, AA made more money than Sean Taylor and ST made the Pro Bowl, i dont know but something stinks and its in the orgganization, this boy (AA) was a bust period, he made more money than any other saftey in the league, and didnt do shit, who the F*****, made that choice.

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
It was coaching, Steve Jackson is an awful coach and i cant believe he is still on this staff. Remember when the article came out and it said that all the safetys couldnt stand him. I miss coach Walker, why did we let him leave for UCLA, he turned there D around real quick. "sigh"

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
whoever thought we could get a 3rd for arch is out of their mind. we're lucky we got a 6th and possibly more for him.
if the bears didn't take him, we might have just kept him, but the bears aren't going to give a 3rd for what's in reality a 2year/vet-min deal on a SS that's played poorly. |

Re: Archuleta traded to Bears for 6th round pick
at least now clearing all that cap room seems to make sense, not that we didn't see sometime like this coming. re-signing stoutmire was a good move for depth, and we still have wynn/patten that could clear a bit of space if needed.
now it's time to wait around till the draft and see what offers the skins get for the #6 pick or who's there if they just have to use it. there's no room left for a mulitalo, scott, etc... not that there ever seemed to be any real interest from the team in the first place. |
