Salary cap of cuts and signings

Who do you think we should cut and keep? Personally I think that Collins and Wynn should be gone. That Frees up 3.85 mil in cap space and gets rid of 2 people that did absolutely nothing.

I'm up in the air about cutting Daniels because I don't want to completely dismantle our team, the chemistry would be all out of wack, but if I were given the decision, I would do it because it frees up 1.84 mil more of cap space, and personally, I think we could get someone much better than Daniels for 1.84 mil.

That frees up a total of 5.69 mil on top of the 8 mil we have in place after cutting arch. That gives us about 13.7 mil of space to work with.

I think that we will spend about 2.5 mil on the draft (that is a rough number that takes into account the rule of 51, and reduces some numbers because late round rookie contracts are less than the vets that they will bump off) In the draft we will either get a DE or a DT, but I think that it will be a DE if we cut Wynn and Daniels. And I do not think that we will sign another DT even though it is needed.

The cap is now at about 11.2 mil. I think that we will cut Patten which will take a hit of about 2.3 mil on the cap. I think we will sign a gaurd replacint Patten on the salary cap to about a 3 mil contract. The cap is now at about 5.9 mil.

I think that we will sign a punter (Frost) for about a 1 mil contract, and I bet Yoder and Stoutmire each got about a 1 mil contract. They replace Wynn, Daniels, and Collins being cut. The Cap room is now at about 2.9 mil.

I would really like to sign Bly, but I dont see that happening. The only way that would happen in my eyes is if Springs took a pay cut of about 1.5 mil, and we traded him for Bly. Bly would cost about 4 mil, so we'd have .4mil left over. I think that we need at least 1 mil in space, but I'm sure we could free up .6mil somehow.

All other signings will be for minimums which will replace other minimums and wont impact the cap.

Your numbers are very conservative (meaning Yoder and Stoutmire are doubtful to take up as much as $1 million, and I don't think any Guard we'd sign would take up as much as $3 million in his first year).

Frost is already under contract with us.

In short, your numbers are all over the place and aren't reliably accurate at this point.

I also think the team will stand pat with Wynn and Daniels. They're both liked by the coaching staff.

I would agree with you. I'm a little surprised they haven't restructured Wynn yet, but they're probably waiting to see how the Bly trade and draft go down first. This way they'll know exactly how much money they need to push to future years, if any.

Re: Salary cap of cuts and signings

I get keeping Daniels, like I said earlier I'm still kindof on the fence for him, but I dont understand why keep Wynn. I mean he is just so bad its rediculous. Hes not even good enough to be a backup and he is only getting older. I dont think his prescence is worth taking up precious cap space.

Also, I said 3 mil for the gaurd because I heard that is about what Wade is getting (not a concrete number) and I dont think a starter would get less than a backup on the o-line. I gave Yoder 1 mil cause that is about what Fauria got last year, and the Stoutmire for 1 mil was just a complete guesstamation on my part.

Edit-Collins is the 3rd string backup who is pretty bad for a 3rd string in my mind. His full name is Todd Collins
