I agree with this, but we will never get that much. The skins pick is 1600 points, the Bears first 2 picks total 1130. That trade would basically put a 470 point value on Briggs which is equivilent to the 43rd pick in the draft. The Bears will never accept a mid 2nd round pick for Briggs. Basically we get screwed one way they get screwed the other way...why don't we all just walk away!

Fundamental questions to ask yourself about the Redskins:

Are you satisfied with Todd Wade at G? Is that a long term answer?

Are you satisfied with Pierson Prioleau (coming off a major knee injury), Vernon Fox, and Omar Stoutmire alongside Sean Taylor?

Are you satisfied with Todd Yoder as your backup TE?

Are you satisfied with our pass rush off the End? Regardless of how you feel about Carter (I think he looked good at the end of the year), how much longer do you think Daniels and Wynn can be effective? Are they even effective enough for your tastes when healthy?

Do you trust Kedric Golston (290 pounds) to improve against the run enough to enable us to get back to blitzing on 2nd and 8 and 3rd and 6? Remember, if we're in 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 3 all the time, we can't blitz much, can we.

How much longer can Cornelius Griffin (30 yrs old) hold up? What happens to us if he gets hurt?

And you want Lance Briggs and the 31st???

Point well taken and you are so right. But one pick is not going to change this. Not even one draft with all you picks[what we don't have by the way] It's going to take at least two drafts to over come what you have posted! We painted ourselfs in to a corner so it's going to take time to right the ship!

Exactly -- so we have to start somewhere. You don't look at the list of needs Schneed mentioned, admit that we can't address all of those needs in one draft, and proceed to do nothing about it.

I've got a sick feeling in my gut after hearing the news that the offer is official. If the front office didn't like any of the options at #6, then you trade down.

The way it stands, somebody with a lot of value could still be there at #6. Once we lose that spot, our draft situation goes from bad to worse.

Lamar Woodly, Charles Johnson, and Anthony Spencer will all be available at #31.

If we do trade down to 31 we need to consider Lamar Woodly. Hes a quick DE that was very stout against the run. We should aslo look at Anthony Spencer (Purdue), Charles Johnson (Georgia), and Justin Harell (Tenn.)

I don't think this will happen. I haven't looked at the whole thread but here goes.

Let's look at what we have: Washington, LF, Rocky as our starters, right?

So we are going to give up on Rocky after 1 season to sign Briggs? Doesn't make alot of sense. Right now our lb's look pretty good. It's our secondary, dline, oline that needs some work.

I really, really doubt it. Briggs is a great young player, but it's kind of like signing 3-4 good wr's and not having anyone to throw them the ball. Oh yeah, we did do that.
