I heard that the deal wasn't done, and that the report was based on the Chicago Sun-Times article I posted. The article basically said that Briggs and the Skins had agreed upon contract terms, but the Redskins and Bears had not agreed upon trade terms. Maybe I'm wrong.

That's how I understand it to be too.

Honestly, I'm rooting for the Bears on this one. Of course, I'll try and see the silver lining if this does go through, but it'll be tough.

Here's the silver lining, the Skins trade out of a pick where they in all likelihood weren't thrilled with the idea of who would be available at #6.

In addition they pick up a proven commodity in Briggs, who is a 26 year old stud OLB in this league. All of a sudden our LB corps. that was a serious weakness last year becomes a serious strength.

And the cherry on top is we still have a 1st round pick to play with. I wouldn't rule out a possible trade back up.

This is of course all dependent on whether or not the Bears want to play ball and accept this trade. I've heard that they aren't interested in moving to #6 and having to pay the kind of $$ involved with that high of a pick. So we'll see.
