I buy one mag, Fantasy Football Index. I read the thing cover to cover and I receive the daily fanball updates to stay on top of injuries, position battles, etc. That's about the extent of my draft prep, I don't really make a list anymore, but in my head I know what I like to do and I pretty much go from the gut. That can be good and bad.

These are the pillars of my draft theory:
Pillar 1: Draft RB's early - no shit! Pillar 2: I always draft at least one Redskin and never a Cowboy - I don't care if Ladanian gets traded to Dallas and I have the first pick. (by the way, this habit of drafting redskins has hurt me in the past few years). Pillar 3: Draft a sleeper in Round 5 or 6. Pillar 4: Pick one rookie - only one! Pillar 5: Never draft a WR if he's the only draftable WR on his team. Pillar 6: Never draft a player with a girl's name (exception - Shannon Sharpe). |

I'm not sure I understand why on pillars 2-6. I will only take a Dallas "D", after last year. No other 'roids, and I exclude all druggies like QC & R. Williams. Why one Rook? Why not the WR if he is the only draftable WR on his team? There are a lot of girls names. Sean Salisbury, Shaun King, Ade Jimoh, etc. HeHateme, Adelwale Ogunleye!
