Re: 5 Most Important Players

1) Chris Samuels
2) Santana Moss
3) Clinton Portis
4) Jason Campbell
5) Sean Taylor

Age plays a role. I almost put Randy Thomas instead of Sean Taylor, but Thomas is considerably older.

Randy Thomas doesn't get nearly enough credit in this league.

Um we are obviously talking about importance if read the thread title, "5 Most Important Players".

No need to call people retards, and if you were joking no one knows you were.

Re: 5 Most Important Players

Really, our coaching staff. I still believe in them...and I still believe that with the right coaching, you can plug all sorts of players in and out.

1- Gibbs
2- Saunders
3- Williams
4- Bugel
5- whoever you deem next important.

A truely great coaching staff is hard to find! If we win the super bowl this year, we will all be saying how wonderful our coaching staff is.

I agree, because as Gregg Williams has taught us, it's the system that makes a great defense and not the players... oh wait

Seriously though, I don't think having four people with "Head Coach" in their job title on the same team works. At least not in the first year or two. I do think all of the coaches listed know what they're doing and have proven that their systems work in the NFL, but throwing them all into the same cluster F of an organization and telling them to play nice and fix it doesn't seem to be working.

Re: 5 Most Important Players

the original question posed was if we could only sign 5 players b/c of FA (this eliminates coaches and draft picks): <in no particular order>

- Clint Portis
- Sean Taylor
- Jason Campbell
- Chris Samuels
- Jon Jansen

WR's & TE's are expendable cuz there are many ways to get production our of mediocre receivers; two offensive linemen IMO b/c they can help both the passing and running game; QB & RB both needed for a balanced offense; the secondary is the hardest place to find franchise level players on the defense and since none of our CB's are stellar u gotta go with Taylor...plus he is a freakin beast!
