There was also the comparison to the West Side story thing. They were talking about how the Tennessee girls were cute and Rutgers ones were hard and street bc they had tattoos. The West side story reference was clearly referring to the fact of lightskinned blacks and whites vs. dark skinned blacks and being thugs, etc.

Overall if you understand how slang is interpreted now and you listen to the entire Imus broadcast from that day you can see how it is offensive.

Yeah, I agree. He called the Rutgers team "jigaboos". That's what originally caught my attention, and what angered me. Movie reference, or not, that was the racist comment, IMO. I think it is stupid how that comment has received less criticism than the other comments he made.

I thought the exact thing when I heard it. They played the clip on Sirius Saturday and that was the first time I heard the whole thing. The "nappy hoes" part was bad, but I was blown away when he said "jiggaboos." I couldn't believe my ears, honestly. I mean, it's bad enough you make one racist/offensive one, but then you come out with something as blatantly racist as "jiggaboo?!" Are you kidding me?
