I think we've touched on this in a lot of different threads. But I think it makes most sense to target 8, 9, or 10. Atlanta might want to trade up and get Okoye or Landry. The Dolphins might want to trade up and get Brady Quinn if he's there. And the Texans could be willing to jump on the chance to grab Adrian Peterson if he's there (though I think they're more likely to sit tight and wait for Levi Brown at 10).

In these trade scenarios, we're only sliding down a few spots so we're still likely to get Okoye, Landry, or Jamaal Anderson. We'd pick up a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the process, which would be helpful in finding a starting G.

As a side note, I'm surprised that people seem to be going south on Jamaal Anderson. I have no idea why that is, he's still regarded as one of the top DEs available. You can dispute Carriker vs Anderson, I can see either one. But some people have Anderson dropping like a rock which makes no sense to me.

Anderson started one season in college. One.

He hasn't had a chance to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he's even an NFL talent. It's not hard to put together a good season if the cards fall right, but it takes a real prospect to repeat that success.

We have no idea into which category he falls, and frankly, that scares me and probably many around the league regarding him.

Not according to Peter King. Say what you want about his opinions, but his insider work is top notch.

After a mediocre pro-day workout (4.75-second 40, 22 reps of the 225-pound bench press) the knocking of Anderson began. But there are many teams that view Anderson as the surest thing among defensive ends and outside linebackers; I've talked to three that like Anderson over top-five lock Gaines Adams, the Clemson defensive end. Anderson weighs 284 pounds, and he should be able to adapt to an end spot in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense.

So at 6 the Skins could very well have their pick of the defensive players. If they use the pick, I would be stunned if they took someone not names Landry or Okoye (both have completely wowed the team and again, I heard Landry had a killer workout Monday). After those two, Jamaal Anderson and Gaines Adamas would be the next two best options among some people out at The Park, with Calvin Johnson likely ending up the top player on the Skins overall draft board (that will be completed this week after the offensive draft meetings end this week - defense went last week, position by position).

Just want to make sure the info I'm forming my perceptions off of is accurate. After all, if what I'm saying is correct, then all PK is stating is an opinion anyway.

Yeah I'll grant you it's one year. But Adams has questions about his size, Carriker has questions about having enough speed and quickness to get around the edge, and Anderson has questions about only having one year as his body of work.

I can see an argument for any of the 3 as the best, I just can't see why anyone thinks Anderson should be dropping like a rock.

Adams had the strength in college, but does he have the strength to hold up against the run in the NFL? And it's a pretty big assumption to figure he can put on 15 pounds AND not lose any speed.

All I'm saying is that all 3 of the top DEs (Adams, Anderson, Carriker) have questions. You can make a case that any one of them are the best.

Besides, we have Andre Carter on one side who is already in the smaller, speed rusher mold. Drafting Adams would be duplicative for us.

I can agree with you on your top two preferences though; Okoye would be my #1 choice by far, and if we ended up with Landry I wouldn't be disappointed.
