Alan Branch has stress fractures in legs

Well, I guess it's officially time to change the sig.

Can you still play with stress fractures? Could that have something to do with his poor showing at the combine?

I thought Branch had bust written all over him prior to reading this. Now I'd avoid him like the plague. No other projected 1st rounder this year has seen their stock fall as much as Branch. This draft is so top heavy with D-line talent there is just no reason to take a risk on him. Kiper actually now has him listed as the #3 DT, with Okoye and Justin Harrell ahead of him.

as ridiculous as this may sound, to me he would worth taking with a second round pick. not that we have one

Second round pick on him would be a no brainer. This is a guy who was looking at potentially top 5 not that long ago. Now please excuse me, I'm going to the store to buy some gin and vermouth.

Its funny how now folks say PFT is all of a sudden a reliable source. They have no article backing this claim on their site.... this could be a complete lie and we would pass on someone who could dominate the line of scrimage... don't believe everything you hear

Well, we also aren't the ones making the final call.

I don't see Branch as a dominant force. I see him as a relatively successful ten year starter at DT. I think he could have been a dominant force with more college seasoning, but it is what it is.

In this case they're actually referring to what Sporting News' Dan Pompei said on ESPN's Cold Pizza the other day about Branch having stress fractures

He would actually be worth it well before then. Just not in round 1.

The front office has a hard-on for Landry too, so I wouldnt be too sure.

My own prayer is to see Adams fall down to 6, that would be great...

I think it is something that can be reoccurring, if I am not mistaken. That is the big concern with it.

Branch just lost a lot of money. That sucks.

on a rather random side note:
6'8''/260 TE Joey Haynos (UMD) ran a 4.7 at the junior combine. Not to shabby. He'll return to UMD for his senior year, and hopefully their QB woes won't bring down his draft status next year.

Someone start getting on the danny about him. I'm trying to get some insider redskins 411.

Who doesn't deal with injuries? He's played through it. Trade down and still draft him.
