There's no question the best decade, at least in my lifetime, was during the '90s, under Clinton's presidency. The "Tech Boom", as we know it, reached epic proportions during his administration. Yes, Reagan did have a successful reign, but some will argue, vehemently, I might add, that under his presidency he further widened the gap between the haves and the have nots. The cutting and slashing of many social programs crippled many Americans.

Not everyone was impressed with Clinton's presidency, but the ecomonic success that was achieved is undeniable. To some extent the same can be said of the Reagan era, but I think it tends to get more credit than it deserves.

and whomever takes the presidency next will have one hell of a financial mess to try and fix. taxes seem like the answer. for some reason govt keeps growing while old W. resides in power. probably trying to satisfy all his friends. i still remember how bill Clinton tried to establish the office of homeland security, only to be laughed at by a republican congress. saying there wasn't a need. who is the joke on now?

Well, like it or not, we are in a war, and it needs to be completed. When that war is done, we still have many other threats that we need to be protected from. We are in the age of full blown terrorism people, there is only one way to deal with it and that's to try to eliminate it, and protect us from it. So whoever takes over will have bigger issues than the national deficit. If some dem takes over and thinks the deficit should be the #1 issue, we all better move out of the country.

Please give us a link or anything that shows that Clinton tried to form a homeland security. I'm not saying he didn't but this is the first I have ever heard of this and I think with all of the talk over the years about who did what before 9/11 I would have heard something about this.

very classy. You make dems everywhere proud with those kinds of comments.
If he sucks so bad, what would you do better? Don't be a John Kerry and "say" you'd do something different, tell us how you would do it.

ps- relax dmek, I understand that not all of you are like that.

I'm just joking around. Sort of.

Well for one I would not have 155,000 of our troops out in Iraq being blown up by IED's everyday and getting shot by snipers. I'm sick and tired to seeing our troops being killed. And for what? To overthrow a dictator who was NO THREAT to the Amercian people? Give me a damn break. Almost 3,600 have died and thousands have injured beyond repair. Does Bush give a shit? Nope. See, he doesn't care about all the death and destruction he has caused. I hope Bush chokes on a piece of chicken this 4th of July. I honestly hate his guts.

Your entire post is ignorable due to that one sentence. Your comment is absurd.

Well, that's your opinion. I have mine and I'll stick to it.....along with most of the American people.

thanks. i think the difference in our beliefs lies in the fact that i do not think the U.S. is at war. when at war, enemies are well defined, and you kill or capture them. in Iraq, we are battling a way of life, a philosophy. this will not be conquered by the united states, it has to come from within enough of the Iraqi people. i just don't see them wanting it bad enough

Right back at you! While we are obviously on way different sides of the fence, I appreciate you not making this a name calling discussion and telling me I am stupid, and I am sure visa versa.
I have a buddy that is a staunch dem. and a huge yankees fan...how we became friends is beyond me since I hate the Yankees and I about as far from being a dem as humanly possible. We would have 2 hour long discussions easy, and when we were done we would sit there like we just ran a marathon. Mentally exhausting. It's a lot of fun though.
For as much as we want to complain about the other persons views, we both know that not much can or will be done about it.
