The defense gave an A performance. The last time I remember seeing the Skins put that much pressure on the offense, the opponent was the Eagles and their QB was Ron Jaworski. I really liked the play calling. Twelve seconds to play - leading 16 to 10 - most defensive coordinators go into the prevent. But, Williams sends in the blitz, puts the pressure on the D and they respond. Aggresive play calling. Well executed. Definately an A. I hope to see more of it.

Clearly the best Redskins defense I have witnesses in a LONG time! They held the Buc's offense to the one field goal, which The Bucs probably would not have gotten if it wasn't for that great kick return. The score really should have been Redskins 21 - Bucs 3.

My grade was a B, although it is a high B. There is still some room for improvment, but compared to what we have seen in the past they played out of this world.
I think if they keep improving and attacking like they did against the Buccs, it could be a great season. Hail! |

We played extremely well on defense and there is very little to complain about.
Smoot played fantastic. I'm guessing Springs did great too since he didn't get a ball his way. Our safeties played well except on the should have TD galloway dropped. Our defensive line was impressive considering how weak I expected it to be, and our linebackers played suberb football. Definitely something I like to see. We saw enough Prevent defense last year to hold us over for a lifetime. Bring the pain! |

trotter is a back up who only plays on special teams, and if you think NY WRs are worse than those guys in bucland, i'm sorry, that's crap. and they got a running game that actually works, i don't know how you can possible think tampa's offensive threat is even close.
NY O-line is definately worse (i never said it wasn't), but even with kearse rushing, they still put up massive yards. |

so your saying the RBs are better, but they're not? and yes, the QBs will put up more yards, so apparently it is a question :P sorry you don't feel like i should be able to have my own opinion, but again, that's not my fault.

The Giants Running Backs of Dayne and Barber are BETTER then the Bucs Running Backs of Garner and Pittman. Are you saying they are not? Also nobody said you weren't entilted to a opinion thats what this board is set up for last time I checked. I was disagreeing with you. You still have not given me a concrete reason why you think the Giants Offense is a better test then the Tampa Offense. Your thought process seems to be because they put up a ton of passing yards on the Eagles. And I said the Eagles secondary is suspect based on the losses they had in free agency (Vincent and Taylor) If you think the Giants put up a lot of yards on the Eagles wait till this weekend when the Eagles play the Vikings. I think they might double up that number. I still also think(my opinion) that the Redskins played a A game no matter who they had faced. Can you find a weakness they had during the game. Seems to me they pitched a shut out. Special Teams allowed the Bucs to get deep into our territory, which the d held and only allowed a field goal. Drive Chart from the Game showes Time of Possesion - 1:35 Start of Play after the returned Kickoff - WAS 34 Numberr of Plays including Field Goal - 4 Total YArds Gained on Drive - 5 Field Goal Other points scored came from the Offense. So they pitched a shut out and that deserves a A. Plus a positive turnover ratio and 4 sacks, how can you argue. |

440 yrds to 199 yds is how i can argue, the eagles aren't the bucs, but they aren't horrible either. the bucs O is very slow and the skins had been planning that game for 5 months. other teams are capable of rolling out and beating blitzes more effectively then gruden/BJ, and until we play one of them, its hard to say we have an A rated defense for sure. this performance was very good, but the competition wasn't. Just because we shut them down doesn't mean that they don't suck.
and the NY RBs are better, you keep saying they're not going to be a better test though, even though they're better, that's what i was commenting on... those statements conflict a bit. |

Duh: A No question.
This is a grade of how they performed against the Bucs. Yes, other teams may be more of a challenge for them, but that will be a different poll. It is a grade of this particular performance, not of the Redskins D in general. They shut them down, so they deserve an A. |
