SHAWN SPRINGS, CB, WASHINGTON
A physically gifted player who never quite played up to his athleticism, Springs surprised many with his bounce-back performance in his first season in Washington. But that performance has been followed by two consecutive sub-par years. With his injury history and inconsistent confidence, Smith may never regain his status as an elite cover corner.

I don't think this to be an over-statement. I wish I did. The writer is just noting what we all know-- that Springs is a question mark. Smoot could easily be on that list, as well as a few linemen I know.

I agree. In fact I thought when I read the title that Smoot was the player that would be mentioned. I think this combo of age, injuries, & declining skills are the reason the Redskins are stockpiling d-backs.
