It was later perceived falsly by Americans as the Boundary between the north an the south (later to be proven wrong) Maryland was not a confederate state and neither was West Virginia (both below the line). Not to revisit the past, but if I were to fight in the Civil War today I would be with the Union and not with the confederacy. I think that it is funny how people can try to classify what is in your heart by placing a boundary on the ground. |
