ps- getting hit in marbles HAS to hurt more than childbirth, it just doesn't last as long. Well, technically the bible says "fruit of the tree". But it is commonly accepted as an apple, and I believe it was called an apple in several different translations, so that's why it is commonly accepted as apple.

FYI- The NIV (the most common version of the bible now a days) does say fruit of the tree.

I prefer the KJV or the NASB. Of course, Adam should have ratted on Eve right away and God would have made him another mo betta woman.

The New American Standard is the most accurate English translation, but it can be hard to follow. I like more contemporary versions (New Living Translation). I tried reading "The Message" but didn't like format of it. Plus, some of the language the author uses is lame. It sounds like some old guy trying to be hip and it comes off corny.

As far as Adam ratting on Eve, he should have. That is a prime example of a man not accepting the responsibility of being the spiritual leader of his household.

Absolutely correct.

I agree about The Message as well. It's way over the top in some of the word choices. It makes me cringe a little. I think trying to compete with the KJV is utterly futile. I use the NASB because, as you said, it is the most accurate.

Protect the woman? LOL. When God asked Adam if he had eaten from the tree Adam replied, "It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit and I ate it." Eve then blamed the snake. They were all a bunch of whiners IMO.

Just an FYI LB, I am 100% glad it's you women that have to endure childbirth...I wouldn't want to do it, and I have a lot of respect for those of you that get through it naturally.
