The best I did was 5 min and 1 second. I wanted to break that 5 minute mile, but never could. I also wanted to run a marathon, but only got to 18 miles.

Skinny people are always so shocked when they see me do things that I am not supposed to do liike running a 4.8 forty in high school while playing running back. And our coach liked me a kick returner too so i had that responibility. Which was funny cause my cousin was als a running back on the team and he was timed as running a 4.29 at 185lbs. But coach never wanted to put him back there. Coach said that I had better vision than him.

Funny you said 4.29, that was exactly what I ran. I was 212 or so when I did it though. My coach wanted me as a running back, because oddly enough my legs are seriously short. I wear 29 inch pants (length), and could probably get away with a 28. I am very low centered and I can run like the wind...that is a great combo at running back..but I was a QB. I could throw 92 MPH and had great accuracy. I even told him, if you can find someone better at QB, then I will gladly move to RB. Never happened.

I am at 4.97 right now and he is at 4.29-4.33. But we were a deadly tandem.

It is because I usually get such great starts. Then I dont look up for the first 20 yards or so. then I just push hard to the finish line.

Re: The Never Ending Thread
Really? I would have expected more considering you can run 2 miles in a little over 10 minutes. Did you only practice longevity runs?

Two different types of running. A 4.45 is an outstanding 40 time btw. But I ran better @100 meters. Who knows what it would have become in college. If you don't use it you loose it. I joined the Army as a natural sprinter. It took me a year to learn how to run 2 miles at that pace. After that I couldn't sprint as fast anymore. There are different types of speed. Nowadays I cannot do either well anymore. Bad Left knee. |

I completely understand that 4.45 is fast. Not dogging on it at all. It's impressive if you ask me.

Re: The Never Ending Thread
I was weird. I played faster than I ran the 40. If that makes any sense.
