I hear you about Comcast screwing with us. I had DirecTV for over five years it was a PAINFULLY five years. First off their customer service is horrible, hope you don't like watching TV when it is raining out, and you will buying up a lot of new equipment in the future to keep up with them. Right now you are in the honeymoon stage with them. I am not saying Comcast is heaven it is the lesser of the two evils IMO. |

Re: nfl network gone?
Does anyone have Verizon FiOS? It's not available in my area yet, but I may jump all over it when it is. I've heard nothing but good things about it

Re: nfl network gone?
One of my friends works for them. All I can tell you is they are taking alot of business away from Comcast and Cox in the DC area. So people down here must really like it. They are growing very quickly but still don't carry NFL Network in the DC area.

Re: nfl network gone?-GET FIOS Now
Quote:
Yeah. I got FIOS as soon as I could, i.e. last Dec 29th. Picture is Un-Freakking-believable! I've got 10 year old 13" emerson tv's in my kids rooms and they look like they are in 3-D Ingternet download AND upload screams. (Did 47mgb download today in about 2 minutes). Phone is crystal clear, with free long-distance. OH, Yeah, The HD channels are free. No shit. I have 1 dvr, 5 other boxes (don't ask), super high speed Internet, TV and Telephone and the whole shooting match is about $170/mo. NFL Network, yeah we got that. 5 espn's and a bunch more crap. Did I mention HD Is free? The techs gave me free HDMI cables and free 'monster cables' in case I got HD later. I have. I had a problem once with one box. Called at 7pm and tech tech came out the very next day and fixed it in 10 minutes. The moment this is available in your area, get it. Hoping it doesn't violate any guidelines, buthere is a site to check if it is in your area: http://www22.verizon.com/content/ConsumerFios I promise I do not work for verizon. I'm telling you, I can't wait for football season. Jim |

Both are pretty good. But Directv is the exclusive provider of the NFL Sunday ticket. the only downside is a 2 year service agreement if you get the HD-DVR Receiver( YOU HAVE TO GET IT!). They are coming out with a boat load of new HD channels in September. |

![]() If you don't want to pay for the NFL Ticket, I'd go with Dish. Better service from what I've heard and noticed myself and for my preferences, they had a better channel selection and were a couple of bucks cheaper. |

Re: nfl network gone?
Now, if I can only figure out how to piggy-back the TV signal to a monitor located IN the bathroom, I'll never miss another play. Heck, I may never come out if this happens!

do you remeber the device called the rabbit? When statlite TV first came out you could only hook it up to one TV. So Radio Shack came up with the rabbit it would send the feed to other TV's in your house wireless. Basically you need a rabbit for your bathroom. |

In actuallity there is a better way, and provides a better feed. All you need to do is splice it and put an "A/B" switch on it when it comes into the other room. That way you can watch whatever you want on the other tv, or you can switch it to be and watch whatever is on your main TV. It's really simple, all you need to buy is enough cable to get it to the other room, and that A/B switch you can get at radio shack. (oh and you need a simple splitter.)
