Why do I get this feeling though that if he is involved he's not the only pro athlete involved in this particular ring, and I wonder if he'd start ratting out names

I was thinking the same thing.
It seems like the whole steroids thing in a way: what are the odds that only one guy on a team/in the entire league is involved in something like this?

If he starts naming names I think he might have to end up in witness protection because I'd think there'd be some really pissed off out-of-work football players out there looking for him.
