It is time to face the facts....Portis at the point in his career is like owning a high mileage car. He still works but his parts are worn. He is creaky and is more likely to break down. We need to start to develop a permanent replacement in the next year or two. Not that I want to get rid of him, I think he is great when healthy. Be he soon will not be worth his high salary because he will not be on the field.
Knee tendinitis in a RB is never a good thing. The same goes for Samuels. Portis and Samuels are two of the higher cap numbers we have. If they start to miss a lot of time in the regular season their high cap number becomes a big problem. |
