OLine Looked Good

I thought that th Oline played great. Particularly, Heyer. I thought that Puccilo played well also. Am I alone in this assessment.

Re: OLine Looked Good

I don't recall Collins being touched. I thought they looked good as well.

Re: OLine Looked Good

Collins took a couple of shots, and Suggs abused Heyer a couple of times. But all in all, considering who they were playing, I would agree that they looked pretty good.

Re: OLine Looked Good

Pass protection looked pretty good, but there were no holes opened up for the running game. I think i saw maybe one decent run all night. However, I think once Samuels comes back and Kendell plays, we'll probably be ok in those regards.

Re: OLine Looked Good

I would give th O-line a C. Sorry, we still can't run the ball and we can't convert on 3rd down because of no time to look through the progressions. It's been 2 1/2 games now, and we have scored one touchdown. Oh no it's 04' again.... Could someone tell me why Al S. is here?!?!

Re: OLine Looked Good

I know Betts has been limited, I know Portis is out, and I also know Samuels hasn't played yet. I also know that we have made very little effort to establish any type of running game as of yet. That bothers me. Especially because our first two games are against very good defenses.

The running game is a major concern for me. Hopefully once we get Kendall in there, and Samuels, and Portis back from injuries we will be okay.

Re: OLine Looked Good

There were no catastrophic moments. I thought Collins had enough time. He had as much time as you are likely to get in the modern NFL.

There was a run to the right side where Jansen looked like he was on roller skates he got pushed back so far. He was manhandled.

I think if we get Campbell and Portis in there with a good dose of Ladell and a little bit of Big Mike, the running game will be there. Miami's defense is not as good as these we've been playing. I figured Collins would get the crap knocked out of him by the Ravens but he was fine. I think I saw Ray Lewis pass up an opportunity to put him in intensive care so maybe the Ravens weren't going all out. But still, I don't think they will embarrass themselves.

Re: OLine Looked Good

It's going to take a while for all the elements to come together. The offensive unit we expect to put on the field against Miami has not practiced at all this preseason. It's still a work in progress, though I do hope for improvement as we go.

Re: OLine Looked Good

No rush, so that's a worry. I think Collins moves the ball a bit quicker than JC at this point, so the lack of sacks was in part that. He got hit a few times pretty good.

But this was the Ravens D--they are going to make an offense look bad. Tough to evaluate in these circumstances.

Re: OLine Looked Good

I really need to think that the running game will come week one when Portis and Betts play the whole game. As well as Jason Cambell and Chris Samuels are back. The G position will be settled once Kendal gets into the offense and gets used to our guys on the line. But the O does worry me a llittle. It's Preseason though.

And that's happening more and more. What's the deal with this guy?

Will he be the scapegoat of the line this year? Does the team need to take a serious look at right tackle in the near future?

Re: OLine Looked Good

The ravens D-line is pretty good... I think the O-line handled itself fairly well given the circumstances.

To early to raise major concern, but I definitely think O-line is the weak point of this team.
