If situational run stopper was a position that every team was mandated to start, there's no way the Skins could justify this move.

Since it isn't, and all defensive linemen have to have the ability to play the run and the pass, this cut makes sense.

Even in his prime, the only thing Joe brought against the pass was the ability to get a few batted balls every season. Not a threat at all vs. the pass.

My Warpath favorite Redskins list takes yet another hit. But once again, this is a great example of a player who the team was able to grab in his prime for dirt cheap, and was able to squeeze a significant amount out of the investment without ever getting financially committed to said player.

It shows some great maturity in the FO, thats for sure.

I will miss Big Joe but injuries and age just weren't on his side. Sounds like they have plenty of confidence in the young guys, which is a good sign.
